Hello Gotta Dance dancers, families and friends! Our 18th annual recital - One Love One Heart is right around the corner. We are so excited for everyone to see all of the amazing things our dancers have done this season. Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, May 3rd at 7:00am, you will be able to purchase tickets for one or all six of the shows by clicking https://www.etix.com/ticket/p/4743418/one-love-one-heart---gotta-dance-2022-recital. Be sure to check the show line up (this is not the order of the show, just which dances will be in each show) BEFORE ordering your tickets so that you are sure to order tickets for the show(s) your dancer will be performing in.
Tickets will be $10 through the ticketing site, and $15 at the door (if available). Your recital fee includes up to 4 recital tickets, the coupon code for your tickets is your dancer's first initial, last name, and birth month. For example, Trish's birthday is in July, so her code would be TMadden07. Please note if your last name contains any special characters, those were excluded. We have sold out in previous years, so be sure to order your tickets early.
Orders for recital roses & bears are now available by clicking Recital Form 2022 - Google Forms. Please note that all orders are due NO LATER than May 16, 2022. Charges will be added to your dancer's account and will be due NO LATER than May 20, 2022. If fees are not paid by that date the card on file will be charged.
Our first annual Recital Costume Pick Up Party is NEXT WEEKEND!! Don't forget to stop by on Saturday, May 7th from 2-4pm to pick up your dancer's costume, stay a while and play some games, play in the bounce house, strike a pose at our photo booth, and have some snacks. We can't wait to have some fun with all of our dancers next weekend.

Video Taping is NOT permitted during recital. For the safety of our dancers, NO flash photography will be permitted. Anyone seen videotaping or using flash photography will be asked to leave.

Makeup
Makeup is necessary to avoid a washed-out look under the bright stage lights. Please use the following directions as a guide.
Use RED or PINK All-Day Lip Color Lipstick
- Use Base and Powder to match skin tone
- Eye Shadow (Neutral Shades) - use base color over lid, then darker in the crease
- Eyeliner (Black) - use on upper and lower eyelid. Should extend past outer corner of lid and lines should NOT connect together.
- Black mascara
- Earth tone blush
For safety purposes, ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY is permitted (includes earrings, bracelets, watches, rings, necklaces, etc.)
This does NOT apply to our competition dances for our club and company members.
Tech/Dress Rehearsal
Tech/Dress rehearsal is at Sunrise Mountain High School. The tech rehearsal is MANDATORY.
Please arrive 30 minutes PRIOR to your scheduled time. This is very important as each dance will practice lining up, entering and exiting the stage. This is a time for the dancers to work on formations, spacing, and last-minute clean-up of dances.
ALL DANCERS should wear BLACK LEGGINGS OR BOOTIES AND A BLACK SPORTS BRA OR CAMI. Parents are welcome to take photographs or videotape during the tech rehearsal.

Concessions and Snacks
Gotta Dance will have concessions available for your convenience during tech rehearsal and before and after all three performances, and during intermission. However, positively NO FOOD, DRINKS, CANDY, etc should be brought into the auditorium. Please enjoy your snacks and beverages in the lobby. We have a beautiful facility for our performances, and it is our responsibility to help keep in in good conditions for many years to come. Please set a good example for your child by adhering to this rule.
Please be sure to pack a CLEAN and healthy snack and drink for your dancers to have backstage.
They do get hungry!! No messy or sticky snacks please.

Dismissal Policy
For your child's safety, the following dismissal policy will be enforced. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Parent / responsible adult will sign dancer in at the desk and include a phone number they can be reached at. A backstage mom will take your dancer to their designated dressing room.
Dancer MUST stay in their dressing room when not on stage for the ENTIRE PERFORMANCE.
The same parent / responsible adult will sign dancer out at the desk. Dancer will not be released to anyone that did not sign the dancer in.

Backstage
We will discuss the proper way to behave backstage with dancers. However, it might be helpful if our parents could also discuss this with their dancers. Dancers need to understand that there will be so many people backstage that they will need to keep their voices down as much as possible. They must also understand they need to follow directions of the "Backstage Moms" and directors.
Speaking of Backstage Moms, we will be using Sign Up Genie again this year for volunteer sign ups. If you would like to help out backstage, you must be signed up to do so. Absolutely NO ONE will be permitted backstage unless they are signed in to help. There is limited space available for backstage helpers. Please keep an eye out for the Sign Up Genie email, coming soon.

Recital T-shirts/Cover-ups
The dancers while traveling to and from the dress rehearsals and performances should wear their recital t-shirt or cover-ups. In addition, it would be nice for our dancers to learn that anytime they are out of their dressing room, they should have a cover-up or recital t-shirt on. Wearing a cover-up while out of one's dressing room demonstrates discipline.

Costume Look Book - Ready to Look/Purchase from accessories list (updated) 5-5-2022
The list of everything that your dancer will need will be in the costume book. Check here for links to any shoes or accessories required for your dancers Big Day! Click on class links in your class to order any accessories needed. If there are no links in your class description, you are all set.
If your dancer's costume lists ballet tights in the costume book, they are required to have a brand-new pair of tights for recital. Dancers should wear their "show tights" for recital pictures and then for the actual performances. Please remember that dancers do not wear underwear under their tights.
